e-sessions: heather and jaime

February 15, 2012

having known heather for 25+ years and knowing jaime for 15+ years, i had a lil hunch on what kind of pics would look great for these two.
the first session we did we had to cut short. 40 minutes in -20 degrees can do crazy things to your body so we wrapped it up and waited for the weather to warm up for a more city look.
being 20 degrees for our next session still seemed cold for some reason, maybe it was the sun going down or the light breeze, but these two kept me warm by how genuine and happy they are.
we walked around downtown for a bit and found several places to shoot and things just fell into place. i love the b&w feel of the downtown pics (i think it’s cause i just got back from chicago and still have this street photography vibe in me) and the contrast between the first and second sessions. these two are as special as the pics turned out…can’t wait for the summer celebration!!

e-sessions: branden and tye

February 14, 2012

i met tye when we were doing our time at costco. he was always getting the aisles cleaned up by getting empty boxes while i worked with tvs, cameras and computers. we weren’t great friends, but we were friends.
i met branden a couple of years ago through mutual friends and we immediately hit it off.
when i saw tye at a fashion show that branden and i were helping out at, i kind of put two and two together and realized what was going on there. i was happy for both because i felt that the two of them deserved someone great and i kind of figured they would last.
the day before we set out on our photographic journey, we celebrated the opening of branden’s salon, Be Salon Studio the night was a blast and the space is pretty awesome. a solid contrast of chic and industrial in only the way Be could do it. so, congrats to you, be for an awesome opening/party and i’m glad tye was there for you the entire step of the way! for those of you who read my stories, Be is an excellent hair stylist!! go see her, you won’t be disappointed!
fast forward one day for our shoot…the temp read 24 degrees but my body said 0. i don’t know about these two, but i was pretty cold the majority of the session, but it was worth it. these two have a great chemistry together and i can’t wait for their summer session.
big props to my assistant, Chris Thomas (CT) for being the best out there.
a few from the day…

cheers!
chris
