i had fun with a very friendly model, jenny. she was easy to get along with and we had a good time during the shoot.
i thought i recognized her from somewhere and we finally figured out where we knew it each other, we had worked at costco together one year so it was cool to figure it out (i had been wondering for quite some time).

studio b: brian, an exposure model

as some of you may know, we have a modeling agency that is manned by the members at studio b as well as our agent, Enri.
brian is one of these models and we spend a little time in front of the camera and got some great shots. i plan on using brian for a few more of my personal shoots so expect to see him on the blog in the future!

events by studio b: steve’s 50th!

so micha and i had the responsibility to photograph steve’s surprise party. micha was doing the video while i was behind my trusty camera.
if i heard the story correctly, michelle, his wife was taken to the airport to go on a “trip.” what steve didn’t know was that this was all a ploy so he would have no idea what was going to happen.
you see, steve had planned a boring night at home without power…that’s right, no power because we had a big windstorm that knocked out power to over 20,000 anchorage residents, no fun for them and definately no fun for studio b. 10 minutes into the party the power comes back on! i couldn’t believe it and the evening commenced.
there was brilliant food catered by Clair d’Loon off of denali st. the music and dance was also a blast.
if i had to sum up this night in one word, it would be love. the amount of love i saw that night was amazing not only from steve and michelle, but the friends that showed up as STEVE! Sweater vest steve, steve the kayaker, steve the outdoorsman and yes, i was steve the photographer

studio b: exposure models

so the other day, studio b had a test shoot for models.
for those of you who do not know what test shoots are it’s simple. a test shoot is a shoot with a model just to see what they can do. i didn’t spend more than 5 minutes with a model. i wanted to see her interaction with me, the camera, and her surrounding area (ie the set or other models in the frame).
these aren’t shots that one would put in their portfolios, just a tool that photographers use to ensure proper placement or proper coaching to the models.
i enjoyed the models and we had a great time and i think it shows in photos.

sessions by studio b: one powerhouse production

being a member of studio b we often collaborate with each other and try and create a session to remember.
one powerhouse production received an invite to the texas music conference in dallas, tx. obviously this is a big deal as some big names have come out of this music festival.
