i love girdwood. love love love girdwood! the town is beautiful, the people are nice and when the weather is awesome it is AWESOME!
leeann and rich are from chicago on their honeymoon and they wanted a session while in alaska. they are both photographers and since they both like to take pics, chances are they both won’t be in the pics at the same time. that’s where i come into play =)
it’s always flattering when another photographer asks you to do their pics. i’m sure they’re as picky as i am when it comes to photography 😉

bridal session: savoeun

well, these were done about 2 months ago, but because of their wedding i didn’t want to post them early for obvious reasons.
savoeun came to my studio and got makeup done by melanie from the alaska makeup team.
we did some studio stuff and then went out to eklutna for an amazing session outside. even though it was cloudy and the weather was uncooperative we still got some good stuff. thanks go to savoeun’s bride’s maids as they helped her get into her dress and move her out in eklutna, you ladies are awesome!

e-sessions: stephanie and joe

stephanie is a friend of mine. she has been for several years. her brother and sister in law are my clients and her other brother got me into photography with his amazing talents.
stephanie had told me about joe over the past couple of years and we have been planning this engagement session for a while. the weather was not very cooperative for the june so we had to cancel a couple of times to wait for the right weather.
well, we got nice sun, awesome clouds…and A LOT of wind! wind blows…blows and blows and blows the hair away, which can be awesome as you will see in a certain shot down below. i’m glad we waited for this shoot to make sure that stephanie and joe got exactly what they wanted.

back in october i got an email from mark letting me know that he wanted me to photograph his wedding since he liked my style after seeing some of my work through his friends. valerie and mark were unable to meet with me until july because they live in arizona. gotta love the internet and smart phones =)
the day finally came when we got to actually meet and i could immediately tell these guys had a certain style and it was cool.
we did these shots in downtown anchorage and we were fortunate to have a beautiful day.
the wedding pics are coming soon as that celebration was just a few days after this session!

i met savoeun and steve back in january at a bridal fair in downtown anchorage. i immediately felt a connection with these two as they presented themselves in a very pleasant manner.
we just seemed to click with every meeting and had a common insatiable appetite for thai food!
after photographing the bachelor and bachelorette party we knew that the wedding was going to be lots of fun. it’s obvious to me that these pictures do not lie, everyone had a great time while attending the ceremony and reception.
i could talk about this wedding all day, but i’d rather just show you!

sarah and august…when i think of these two i immediately think how great these two are together.
as i sat back and edited these photos, i thought about their wedding day. the day was filled with lots of laughs and lots of happy tears. i couldn’t be more happy for these guys on their journey together.
